Creating an approachable space with regular exhibitions for emerging and established artists in all mediums, the space taps into the diverse reservoir of creative talent in Melbourne.

Available for hire for public, private or secret screenings; the fully airconditioned space seats up to 130 people and the airconditioned cinema comes complete with a Blu-Ray and DVD player, 4m x 3m screen, black velvet drapes, a NEC LT265 projector, and Onkyo TX-SR875 Surround Sound System.

A small bar is set up inside the cinema serving bottled beer and wine and milk crate coffee tables are positioned at the end of seating rows creating a special cinema experience.

For events after 6pm, entrance is from Heape Court.

Downstairs Gallery

The exhibition space at 1000 £ Bend is one of the largest independent galleries in Central Melbourne featuring a custom made tracking system for hanging works.

With fully-licensed catering available, the space is able to accommodate a range of functions or exhibitions.

For events after 6pm, entrance is from Heape Court.

1000 £ Bend is not a live music venue, if you’re a band and looking for a venue please head to our sister venue, The Workers Club in Fitzroy.

1000 £ Bend holds a number of events and exhibitions throughout the year. If you are interested in hiring the space for an event or showing artwork please download our information or exhibition application packet.
