Comedy Festival - Tristan Savage
10/04/2012 - 22/04/2012
I know what you’re thinking: beach riots, national interventions, immigrants, professional aborigines and blacked-up faces; very sensible topics for a comedy show!
As perverse as it is brilliant, Australian Ghostcombines character acting, new media and stand-up comedy to showcase three satirical characters: Edward Stevenson, a British settler from 1865; Frederick Alford an Indigenous social worker from the Australian Department of Discrimination Prevention; and Darren Taylor, a xenophobic bogan, draped in the national flag.
From humble experimental beginnings in Townsville’s Cowshed Theatre, Australian Ghost went on to become a smash hit at La Boite’s Festival of Australian Student Theatre in Brisbane.
Tristan Savage, Deadly Funny National Grand Final Winner 2011, presents this unique, disturbing and not to mention hilarious take on race relations in Australia.
